Publish a Post Right Now

Most of the time you'll schedule a post for later. But when something needs to go out now — an announcement, a sale that just started, a reply to something happening today — you don't have to pick a time at all. Publish now sends it straight to your connected accounts.

How to publish now

1. Open the composer from Schedule in the sidebar, or hit G then N.

2. Pick one of your designs, or upload an image or video.

3. Write your caption. You can give Instagram and Facebook different captions with the per-platform toggle.

4. Turn on the accounts you want to post to.

5. Hit Publish now instead of Schedule.

You don't need to touch the date and time fields — Publish now ignores them.

What happens next

Krumzi confirms straight away and drops you back on the calendar, where you'll see the post with a pulsing publishing chip. You don't have to wait on the screen or keep the tab in front of you.

Here's why it works that way: Instagram and Facebook don't accept a post instantly. They fetch your image themselves, and for video they process it on their side first. That takes anywhere from a few seconds to a couple of minutes, and none of it is something you should have to watch a spinner for.

The chip updates itself as the platforms answer:

• Publishing — Krumzi has handed it over and is waiting on the platform.

• Published — it's live everywhere you selected.

• Partial — one platform took it and another didn't. Open the chip to see which.

• Failed — nothing went out. The chip tells you why, and you can retry from there.

Images usually land in a few seconds. Video takes longer, because Instagram processes the file before it will publish it — a minute or two is normal. You can leave the page; it finishes on its own either way.

If something doesn't go through

Open the post on your calendar and read the reason on the chip. The usual causes:

• Your account needs reconnecting. Instagram and Facebook expire their connections periodically. Head to Accounts and reconnect, then retry the post.

• Instagram's daily limit. Instagram caps how many posts an app can publish for you per day. Krumzi retries automatically later — you don't need to do anything.

• Your plan lapsed. Publishing needs an active paid plan, checked at the moment the post goes out.

Whatever the reason, the post stays on your calendar so nothing is lost. Fix the cause and retry it from the chip.
