Add Annotations

Add hand-drawn arrows, lines and circles to point at, underline or highlight parts of a Krumzi design.

Annotations are hand-drawn style arrows, lines and circles you can drop onto a design to point at something, underline it, or ring it. They're perfect for tutorials, screenshot walkthroughs, "look here" callouts and playful emphasis on social posts.

Adding an annotation

  1. Open the Assets tab in the left side panel and choose Annotations.

  2. Switch between the Arrows, Lines and Circles tabs to browse the styles.

  3. Click one to place it on the canvas.

  4. Drag it into position, resize it with the handles, and rotate it so it points exactly where you want.

The AI can add them too. Try "circle the discount badge" or "draw an arrow from the headline to the product."

Customizing

Select an annotation and use the Design panel:

  • Color. Recolor the stroke to anything, including your brand colors. Bright, high-contrast colors read best.

  • Size and tilt. Stretch a line longer, make a circle wider, or angle an arrow. Corner handles keep proportions; side handles stretch one axis.

  • Effects. Add a keyline, shadow or glow, or change the blend mode.

  • Opacity. Turn it down for a subtle highlight.

Layer order

Annotations should sit above whatever they're pointing at. If one disappears behind an image, select it and press Cmd/Ctrl + ] until it's on top, or right-click and pick Bring to Front.

Tutorial workflow

  1. Upload a screenshot (Uploads tab, drag and drop, or paste it with Cmd/Ctrl + V).

  2. Right-click it and choose Fit Canvas or Fill Canvas.

  3. Add circles around the important controls and arrows toward the next step.

  4. Add short text labels next to each mark. Keep them to a few words.

  5. For multi-step processes, use a carousel and give each step its own slide instead of overloading one image.

Emphasis in regular posts

  • Circle the key number in a stat post.

  • Underline the one phrase in a quote you want people to remember.

  • Point an arrow at the CTA button in a promo.

  • Ring a product feature in a product shot.

Tips

  • Stay consistent: same color and style for every annotation in a series.

  • Don't overdo it. One or two marks per image keep the message clear.

  • Pair each annotation with a short label; the mark says "here", the words say "why".
