Add and Edit Text

Text is where most designs win or lose. Every text element in Krumzi is fully editable, whether the AI wrote it or you added it yourself.

Adding text

1. Click Text in the add bar at the top of the canvas, or just press T. A text element lands in the middle of the current slide, already selected and ready to type into.

2. Drag it where you want it and start editing.

Or skip the clicking: open the AI chat and say "add a subheading under the title that says…". The AI picks a font, size and color that fit the rest of the design, and you can still tweak everything afterwards.

Editing the words

Double-click a text element to edit it right on the canvas (the cursor lands where you clicked), or select it and press Enter. Type your changes; Enter adds a new line, and pasted text comes in clean without foreign formatting. Click outside the element, press Esc or Cmd/Ctrl + Enter, or hit Done in the toolbar to finish. The box keeps its size and its handles while you type; it only grows downward when you add lines, and shrinks back when you remove them. Drag a side handle to change where the words wrap (that finishes the edit and keeps what you typed).

Sizes and undo while you type

The number between − and + in the toolbar is a field: click it, type a size and press Enter. While you have words selected it shows the size of those words and goes read-only, because size then applies per word with the + and − buttons. Cmd/Ctrl + Z while typing first discards what you typed since your last change, and a second press walks back through the design's history; Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Z redoes. The caret stays where it was.

Formatting one word, not the whole block

While editing, select the words you want to change. A small Formatting selected words tag appears in the toolbar, and from that moment Bold, Italic, the color swatch, the size buttons and the highlighter apply to those words only. Make the number in "Save 50%" bold and orange, italicize one word, paint a marker highlight behind a phrase, or bump a single word up a size. Cmd/Ctrl + B and Cmd/Ctrl + I work on the selection too.

With nothing selected, the same buttons style the whole text element. Bold is relative to the block: on a heavy headline it lightens the selected words instead of trying to go heavier. Everything you set this way exports exactly as you see it, and the AI can do the same thing when you ask ("make the word FREE red and bigger").

Font, weight and style

The toolbar above a selected text element carries the everyday controls: font, size (− / +), color, bold, italic, highlighter and alignment. For everything else, open the Typography section in the Design panel (More → All options):

• Font. Search the full Google Fonts library. Curated picks like Inter, Sora, Montserrat, Poppins, DM Sans, Space Grotesk, Playfair Display, Bebas Neue, Anton and Oswald are quick to reach. Fonts you've saved in your Brand Kit are available too.

• Style. The dropdown next to the font lists every weight that family actually supports (Regular, Semi Bold, Bold, Extra Bold, and italic variants where the font has them). Krumzi only shows real weights, so what you see on the canvas is what exports.

• Size. Type an exact pixel value or pick a preset. You can also drag the corner handles on the canvas: on text, corners scale the font.

Color

In the same Typography section, click the color swatch. You can use the visual picker, paste a hex code, or pick from your brand colors, which sit right at the top when you have a Brand Kit. Text can also take a gradient fill, and you can mix colors and weights inside a single text element when the AI builds rich-text runs (for example, one highlighted word in a headline).

Alignment and spacing

• Alignment. Left, center or right, using the three buttons in the Typography section.

• Letter spacing. Tighten or loosen tracking with the slider or type a value. Great for all-caps labels.

Text effects

Open the Effects section for one-click presets built for type: shadows (soft, hard drop, long shadow and more), glows, outline, stroke-only, highlight marker, gradient fill, and punch-out. Shadows follow the actual letter shapes, so a headline never gets a rectangular box behind it. Glass presets turn a text pill into frosted glass.

Layout and layers

The Layout section gives you exact position and tilt. Opacity lives under Appearance. Use Cmd/Ctrl + ] and [ to move text above or below other elements, and the right-click menu for Bring to Front and quick alignment.

Tips

• Two fonts per design is plenty. Use weight, not more families, to build hierarchy.

• Zoom in to check that small body text is still readable at export size.
