Add Shapes and Elements

Add shapes from the add bar or the Assets panel, give them labels, and add icons, animated counters, QR codes and other elements.

Shapes and small elements do the structural work in a design: panels behind text, dividers, badges, decorative blobs. Everything below lives in the Assets tab of the left side panel.

Shapes

  1. Open Assets and pick Shapes.

  2. Choose a shape. You get a live preview before you add it.

  3. Click to place it, then drag, resize and rotate it on the canvas.

Available shapes: rectangle, circle, ring, blob, star, wave, line, triangle, diamond, hexagon, pentagon, arrow, cross, and custom shapes from an SVG path (the AI uses these for anything unusual). Icons the AI adds through its icon search behave the same way as shapes once they're on the canvas.

Shapes from the add bar

Click Shape in the add bar at the top of the canvas. Pick a family (Blob, Wave, Rectangle, Circle, Star or Pill), then one of the generated variants underneath; Regenerate rolls a fresh set. The shape lands on the current slide in your first brand color, selected. Rectangles and circles keep the Corners control in the toolbar, and every shape gets Add label, which drops a text element centered in it in a color that reads against the fill; the label is grouped with the shape, so they move together, and Edit label puts you straight into the words. Pill adds a labeled pill in one go.

QR codes from the add bar

Click QR code, paste a link or type any text, and press Enter or Add QR code. A scannable square lands on the slide; recolor it or change its value in the Design panel (More β†’ All options).

Styling a shape

Select it and open the Design panel:

  • Color. Solid fill from the picker, a hex code, or your brand colors.

  • Fill effects. Linear gradient, radial gradient, mesh fill painted inside the silhouette, or a dotted pattern over the fill.

  • Border. Toggle a border in the Effects section and set its width, color and corner radius. On shapes it follows the exact outline, not a rectangle around it.

  • Shadow and glow. Presets like soft shadow, hard drop, long shadow, inner shadow, neon glow. They hug the real shape.

  • Glass. Liquid, frosted, clear, tinted, dark or chromatic glass. The whole silhouette becomes real frosted glass with a backdrop blur, so a glass card over a photo looks like the real thing.

  • Blend mode. Multiply, screen, overlay, difference, soft light.

  • Opacity, position, size, tilt. Under Appearance and Layout.

Animated counters

Pick Animated Counter in Assets to add a number that counts up. In images it shows the final value; in videos it animates. You can style it like text: font, size, color, spacing.

QR codes

Pick QR Code, paste a URL or any text, and a crisp, scannable code lands on the canvas. Select it to change the value, foreground and background colors, make the background transparent, and set the error-correction level. It's rendered as vector, so it stays sharp at any size and any export scale. For the full guide, including what to link to and how to keep a code scannable, see Add a Link to an Image with a QR Code.

Other things in Assets

  • Images and Videos: search stock libraries and drop results straight in.

  • Emoji: animated emojis (see the Use Animated Emojis article).

  • Annotations: hand-drawn arrows, lines and circles.

  • Meme Templates: classic templates you can caption.

Using shapes as containers

  1. Add a rectangle or a rounded blob.

  2. Give it a color (or a semi-transparent dark fill over a photo).

  3. Press Cmd/Ctrl + [ until it sits behind your text.

  4. Resize until it frames the text with even padding. Snapping helps you line the edges up.

Let the AI do it

All of this is available in the chat too. "Put a frosted glass card behind the headline", "add a QR code to krumzi.com in the bottom right corner", or "give the price badge a long shadow" all work, and you can fine-tune the result by hand.

Tips

  • Match shape colors to your brand palette; brand colors are one click away in every picker.

  • Low-opacity shapes add depth without stealing attention.

  • Duplicate (Cmd/Ctrl + D) a styled shape instead of restyling a new one.
