The Animated Background Generator is at krumzi.com/tools/animated-background-generator. It renders a slowly moving gradient as a looping MP4 you can put behind a website hero, a slide, a video intro, or a Reel. It's free, there's no signup, and the export has no watermark.

Set it up

  1. Pick a resolution. Choose 1080 by 1080 (square), 1920 by 1080 (landscape), or 1080 by 1920 (vertical). Pick the size before you export so it fits where it's going.
  2. Choose colors. Start from one of the twelve presets in the gallery (Purple Waves, Ocean Blue, Sunset Glow, Midnight Tech, Forest, Candy, Monochrome, Sunrise, Aurora, Coral Reef, Cyberpunk, and Mint Fresh). Clicking a preset applies its colors, speed, and duration and scrolls you back up to the tool. You can also open the Palettes dropdown for more ready-made combinations, or edit the colors directly, adding up to eight or trimming down to two.
  3. Reshuffle the layout. Press the spacebar, or use the regenerate control on the preview, to move the color blobs around until you like the composition.
  4. Set the motion. The Animation Speed slider runs from 0.1 (barely drifting) to 1 (lively). The Duration slider sets the clip length from 1 to 10 seconds.
  5. Export. Hit the export button. The video renders on Krumzi's servers, then a download button appears when it's ready.

What you get

An H.264 MP4 at the resolution you picked, 30 fps, up to 10 seconds long. MP4 plays everywhere and keeps files small. If you specifically need a GIF, convert the MP4 with a free tool like ezgif or CloudConvert.

Using it as a website background

Drop the MP4 into a video tag with autoplay, muted, loop, and playsinline set. It behaves like a looping GIF at a fraction of the file size, so your page still loads fast. Five to ten seconds at a low speed reads as calm and continuous; very short loops at high speed tend to feel repetitive.

Commercial use

Backgrounds you make here are cleared for commercial use. Client work, paid landing pages, product launches, and ads are all fine, with no attribution required.
