Upload and Place Images

Your own photos, product shots and logos make a design yours. Here's every way to get an image onto the canvas and what you can do with it once it's there.

Uploading

• Uploads tab. Open Uploads in the left side panel and drop files onto the dropzone, or click it to browse. You can upload several at once. Uploaded images stay in your library so you can reuse them in other designs.

• Drag and drop. Drag an image file from your desktop straight onto the canvas.

• Paste. Copy an image anywhere, click the canvas, press Cmd/Ctrl + V.

• From a URL. When you paste a product page or article link into the AI Designer, the AI can pull real images off that page instead of generating new ones.

• Brand Kit. Your logos and brand assets are one click away in the Brand Kit tab (Pro and Ultra).

• Stock and AI. The Assets tab searches stock photos; the Media Generator tab creates AI images from a prompt (5 credits each).

Any common image format works (PNG, JPG, WebP, SVG and so on). PNG keeps transparency, which matters for logos and cutouts.

Placing and sizing

Drag to move, use corner handles to resize (aspect ratio stays locked), and arrow keys to nudge. Right-click an image for Fit Canvas (whole image visible) or Fill Canvas (cover the whole design), plus quick alignment to center, edges, top or bottom.

Replacing an image

Select the image and use Replace Image in the small toolbar above it, or simply double-click the image. The new file takes the exact position and size of the old one, so swapping visuals never breaks the layout.

Removing the background

Select the image and click Remove Background in the toolbar. The cutout replaces the original in place. This costs 5 credits, and you're only charged when it succeeds. One-click background removal from the canvas is available on Pro and Ultra.

Masks, borders and filters

Open the Design panel with the image selected:

• Masks. Ask the AI to clip an image to a circle, ellipse, rounded rectangle, pill, organic blob or arch ("mask the portrait as a circle"). Masks scale with the image.

• Border. Toggle a border in the Effects section and set its width, color and corner radius; on a masked image the ring follows the mask.

• Filters. Duotone, vintage, grain overlay, blur-background-only, high-contrast black and white, cinematic.

• Image effects. Vignette, chromatic aberration, pixelate, halftone, scanlines and film grain, each with an intensity slider.

• Blur. Soft blur, horizontal or vertical motion blur, radial blur.

• Shadow, glow, blend mode, opacity. Shadows follow the alpha of a cutout PNG, so a product cutout casts a real product-shaped shadow.

Full-bleed photo backgrounds

If you want a photo behind everything, don't stack an image at the back. Open the Background tab instead: any background can carry a full-bleed photo with an optional blur, texture overlay and dual-tone treatment. See Change Backgrounds.

Layering

Cmd/Ctrl + ] and [ move an image up and down the stack; the right-click menu has Bring to Front and Send to Back.

Tips

• Upload the largest version you have. Exports at 2× to 4× reveal soft, low-res sources.

• Put a semi-transparent shape or a dark-glass card between a busy photo and your text.

• Ask the AI: "replace the hero photo with a warmer stock image" or "cut out the product and add a soft shadow."
