Fade the edges of an image
Softly dissolve a photo into the background on one edge, two edges or all around, from the image toolbar or by asking Krumzi.

When a photo sits on a colored background, the place where the picture stops can look like a hard cut. Edge fade softens that line so the photo melts into whatever is behind it.
Add a fade in the editor
- Click an image on your canvas.
- In the floating toolbar, click Fade (it sits next to Corners).
- Pick an edge: Top, Bottom, Left, Right, Top + bottom, Left + right or Vignette (all edges at once).
- Drag the size slider to choose how much of the image fades. Small values give a gentle edge, large ones a long, soft blend.
Pick None to remove the fade. Every change can be undone like any other edit.
Ask Krumzi to do it
You can also just ask in chat, for example:
- "Fade the bottom of the photo into the background"
- "Give the image a soft vignette"
- "Make the fade on the photo longer"
Good to know
- The fade works with image shapes too, so a photo clipped to an arch or circle can still fade out.
- It shows the same in the editor, in previews and in your exports.
- A drop shadow or glow on a faded image keeps its full outline, so if you fade a photo, you'll usually want to turn its shadow off.
